Environmental DNA analysis is a technology that determines the species of organisms that exist in environmental water by analyzing DNA derived from biological excrement and tissue fragments. It offers the advantage of being able to find results simply by sampling and analyzing water, without the need for a large-scale collection survey.
Chugai Technos has used environmental DNA analysis to conduct a fish survey in collaboration with the Center for Environmental Science in Saitama since 2019. As a result of our research, our staff has written a report about the validity of environmental DNA analysis, which was published in the February and March 2020 issues of the specialized magazine "Journal of Water and Waste."
