Joint research with Osaka University on "Correlation between Dust and the Amount of Aspergillus Scattered" started

When structures in a hospital building are dismantled, fungal infections such as aspergillosis can be an issue for immunocompromised patients. This is believed to be caused by spores of the genus Aspergillus and other fungi suspended in dust particles. There has been a report that describes the correlation between dismantling work at hospitals and the number of aspergillosis patients, but there are no reports regarding specific amounts of dust.

The purpose of this joint research is to accumulate data on, and establish the correlation between, the amount of dust generated and the amount of Aspergillus scattered, in order to contribute to suppressing the outbreak of fungal infections.
